The day was beautiful for Lethann, she was strolling in the lush gardens enjoying the serene mood when the wind suddenly kicked up and her veil went blowing just about ready to snag on the grape vines.
The sky was starting to darken in the distant horizon and Lethann knew it was time to head toward home before she was caught outside in the on coming storm.

Hi Everybody :)
Do you ever have this special feeling, when creating, that you suddenly come straight into a kind of parallel, boundless world ? That you cross an invisible frontier, and then, following an unexpected process, you suddenly catch THE idea, and create THE project that was hidden somewhere, in your mind ?

I am an instinctive stamper : I quite never follow a sketch, or copy somebody else's creation. My stamping process is like a messy road, full of surprise (even for me :)
So, when I sit down at my stamping table, I often feel like this woman ...

... But, don't worry, I NEVER stamp naked ;)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I created this card using the Dance of the Graces (FA-298-L) Stamp. I love mythology and really have fun with this. I stitched around the card before adding my layers. The dream sentiment stamp is grom Studio G and the background paper is Daisy D's.

Scroll Butterfly Heart

When I saw this stamp I fell in love with it. You can use it in so many ways but here I have used it to make a card. Firstly I used alcohol inks to paint a gloss card then stamped the Scroll Butterfly Heart stamp onto the background with black Archival pigment ink and then lifted it off. I stamped the image again to white card and coloured it with watercolour paints and cut out and layered the butterfly. I stamped the happy birthday sentiment the same way as the main image. The background was coloured with watercolours and then stamped over and frame drawn. Hope you like it.

Rut-roh! I'm at it again with more Gnome pun cards. This one was prompted by Moxie Fab World's "Map to your Heart" Challenge. Since I collect map papers and love maps, this card popped into my head, which probably reveals a bit too much about my somewhat warped sense of the world.

Here it is!

There's Gnomette Peeking (AP-16-B) from p. 19 of the Summer '05 catalog. She's joined by Gnome Reaching Down (CK-110-B) from p. 42 of the catalog. I thought the two of them together looked as though they were studying something, so I decided to make them peering at Nome, Alaska through a heart aperture.

When I first saw this image it just screamed "Mom's Wisdom" to me. Just think of all those "Momisims" - Because I said so; Don't make that face or it'll freeze in that position.; If I talked to my mother like you talk to me.... ; Always change your underwear; you never know when you'll have an accident. ; Be careful or you'll put your eye out.; What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it, too?, etc...

Now can't you just see her saying any of those things? She'd be perfect for Mother's Day Cards, Scrapbook Layouts and so much more!

The elephant is stamped on a scrap of decorative paper bag I received at a local scrapbooking store, I couldn't throw it away. Layer on to orchid cardstock. Use a piece of sequin waste and sponge dark ink around the edges of the card. Cut out the word "explore" from magazines and brochures. Scan or take a photo and add some paint brush effects with photo editing software

Third Coast's lovely Mademoiselle Sofie has caught Pieter the pirate's attention. Oh Oh!! It looks like Pieter's straying eyes and lust for "treasure" have gotten him into a bit of trouble. Look out Pieter!! Pirate Peg doesn't look too pleased! Could this be a bit of jealousy or perhaps the gorgeous Pirate Peg is after Pieter's buried treasure?

The scene was created by first stamping Pieter near the center then building the scene from there. All images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, masked with Judikins Eclipse Tape as the scene was created, then colored with Copic markers and gold and silver gel pens for the metallic accents. As soon as I saw this stamp image in the on line catalog I knew I had to get her.

The outfit that she's wearing is so feminine and she has so many possibilities.

I've featured Laila playing her lute by the partial wall stamp a couple times, die-cut with spellbinders added a small scrap of lace, some coordinating colored mini flowers and punched leaves

but something has caught her attention! Oh what could it be, a favorite pet ........or is it another musician?

My 2012 ‘good’ resolutions : Be immoral … virtually :)

Hi everybody,
I have a 14 years old teenager at home, and … I’m desesperate : Because he loves RAP music !!!! Yes, he does !
So, because I’m as curious as a monkey, sometimes I try to get interested with his favourites singers.
I discovered some I truly appreciate.
I also discovered some I can hardly imagine that they have had a loving mother once …

I’m too old, I guess, to understand the cosmic interest of lyrics that proudly say : “I want to have a good time and enjoy my Jack / Sit back and watch the women get drunk as hell /
So I can wake up in the morning with a story to tell ...”
But I’m not too old to catch the general/virtually/immoral/idea into a virtual/non-moral/stamped/project. Yeepeeeee !

And, suddenly, this quote sounds much more sympathetic to me

Ah, the Sledding Bunny is on the down hill side of 2011. You can find "Sleding Bunny" (VB-231-I) at ThirdCoast Rubber Stamps. The moon is also from Third Coast ( Cloudy Moon On Horizon CH-155-C)

This little guy was fun to color in with prismacolor pencils to match the designer sky paper. Stamp both the bunny and moon on scrap of white cardstock and cut out.Punch some circles from scraps of sky paper. Design a snow covered slope from the inside of a business envelope. Print text from your computer word processing program, cut and layer on scrap of black paper.

Snowman Cupcake Fun!

Fancy Cat-cool cat

Only two more days (counting today) till the big day. Hope you will all have a wonderful Christmas and that Santa will be good to you.
My card was made using Third Coast Stamps: Fanci Cat- Cool cat (CO-089-I) and Meow Christmas (WS-083-BB). I cut three different widths of red card and stamped a snowflake over them and faux stitched in white ink and then attached it to a green card. The cool cat image was stamped and coloured with watercolours and the frame was hand drawn. The ribbon and the snowflakes were then added.

Jack Frost is at it again!

I've had this one in my head for a long time and finally got around to making it. It's seasonally appropriate too since it's getting cold in these parts.

Jack Frost was feeling feisty and decided to explore an enchanted forest. He discovered a Toadstool House (DT-022-M)and just had to work his magic upon it and the surrounding trees.

I am sorry for my late posting. If like me and you're knee deep in Christmas 'stuff' i thought that a little fantasy escapism might be nice. The 3 projects here are simple, small and non Christmas. The beautiful unicorn above is just stamped and coloured with ink..... and slightly distressed with dark ink.... i think this in one of the nicest fat-book pages i have ever made.

The ATC to the left i made quite dark..... and the one below right i kept bright with just darkened edges.

These lovely unicorn stamps needed nothing other than a little bit of colouring.... and of cause they are all from THIRD COAST.

Peace on Earth

Hi! Hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday! Did everyone get all their Christmas cards out yet? Not me! Every year I do this to myself, and every year I tell myself I'm gonna start way earlier next time. Never happens. You think I would have learned by now, huh?

Here is my Peace on Earth card, using TC Snow Covered Tree (CM-250-S) and Peace on Earth (WS-165-B) stamps.

I embossed the snow covered tree on the paper in white, and then added some diamond stickles. I stamped my sentiment on the paper in white and distressed the edges and sewed on some babbles before adding it to the card. The background was embossed using the snowflake embossing folder and my Cuttlebug.

Hi everyone,
What can I say about this Christmas card ?

Here is the perfect ( ?) exemple of a project, initially a simple scheme, (an outdoor winter scene around the "Reyner’s ride" stamp), that slowly moved into something quite different : The same outdoor winter scene, seen from an indoor point of view, through a window. Don’t ask me why my project finished this way, I really don’t know ! :)
All I can say is that I’m definitly NOT a "one-stamp"-card-maker … LoL !

Did you know that Jack Frost is the son of the Frost King, and is a winter sprite that came from roots of Viking Lore and also known as Old Man Winter in Britain and the United States

Dragon and Chris Mouse and all the little mice have had a busy day wrapping presents and decorating the castle for Christmas. Now they are finshing up, hanging their stockings on the mantle and settling down for a "long winter's nap", while waiting for Santa to arrive. Happy Rainy Monday!

It's pouring down outside so I'm in a winter mood today and thought I'd share this project I desiged for my 4 year old nephew, Daniel ;0) This is his Christmas card this year! The ornament comes displayed on a card and then it's easily removed for hanging on the Christmas tree! I think he'll love it, don't you :0)

I love hitting the after Christmas sales and picked up this lime green tin tree ornament at Target at the beginning of the year for like 20c with every intention of using it in my art somehow and thought it would work perfectly with the cute penguin stamp called Percy on Ice (VB-211-M) by Third Coast Rubber Stamps! I enjoy celebrating Christmas, and honor those who celebrate other days! I believe in all paths to God. This fun card is made with Third Coast Rubber Stamps CO-097-H Circle Package. Stamp the image on scrap paper, cut out, I cut off the "ends" of the package ribbons for a neater look. Color in the packages and layer onto circle paper of your choice. Cut letters from magazines and brochures. ( My favorite mixed media technique.) Photograph with the iPhone and play with assorted apps.

This is a great Christmas stamp, I really liked it.

If you have to make a lot of cards and you are running out of time, than this is a great stamp for you. I made this card using water markers, Tombo or Pro marker will do just fine.

Color the stamp and spray a little bit of water on it. Then stamp it, on the corners you can stamp some holly leaves.

Then draw with a marker some fine line's. Mat the card, and you have a great Christmas card.

Hi everyone,

Ok, I confess ! Sometimes I feel embarrassed, when I suddenly stand ‘face to face’ with a craft material, purchased long ago, and lying in my craftroom … yet packed.
Hard to resist to compulsive shopping !

So, at these moments, piteous, I feel I really have to challenge myself : something like “doing more, with less …” or, like we say in French, “make something new out of old”. And, you know what ? It is also a special time for me to explore.
Maybe you had read my previous post about changing your stamps first destination.
Now, here's how, starting from one stamp with a relatively simple design (*), you can obtain pictures apparently different, simply by changing their position, and arming yourself with glue and scissors.
(*) In my opinion, when you choose a stamp to work with, the most its design will be simple, the most it will lend itself to changes.

With mainly four stamps, recycled materials and fiber, here is a Christmas garland that I'll happily hang at my window, at Christmas time.

If you have no electron microscope near by your computer, let's see the close-ups :)

Enchanted Birthday!

These little Third Coast fairies are stopping by with a special magically enchanted happy birthday wish.

Enchanted Birthday!

To reverse the fairies with the flowers, the butterflies and the stardust corners, they are all stamped a second time on a mirror image stamp (a flat surface stamp), then on the cardstock. The images were colored with Copic Markers, then holographic embossing powder was used to give an irredescent look to the wings, stardust corners and sentiment.

In our family traditionally we weren't allowed to start decorating till Christmas until after Thanksgiving... Drove Dad nuts every time we started begging to put the tree up early. So, since Thanksgiving is now over and we're all stuffed with turkey it's time to pull out the ornaments, add some sparkle and let the decorating begin!

If your cat is like ours he/she will be sittin' right there trying to "help".

Today I'm sharing my non-traditional 'two seasons merged into one' Tiger Fairy art card

Faera the Tiger Fairy

The Tiger Fairy is a very rare species but if you time it just right you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of one when they come out to play just as Fall turns into Winter!

I based my design on the colours of the gorgeous ribbon which represent the end of Fall and by including the Christmas Rose and Holly stamp as my background image I moved the design into Winter too! I think this one would be perfect as a non-traditional Thanksgiving or Christmas card ;0)

That's what we have here in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada - a white surprise!! The first significant storm of the season dumped 16+ inches of snow here yesterday creating a beautiful winter wonderland! Anyone not prepare got buried, just like this unsuspecting fella below! It was hard to capture how much this card sparkles covered with Glitter Ritz... hopefully, you can see some of it in the closeup when you click on it!

Snow Angel card

Christmas is not that far away so no surprise that I made a Christmas card. The stamps used are all Third Coast Stamps: Snow Angel (VB-373-K), Winter Brook (AP-193-H) and Merry Little Christmas (WS-091-B).
The background was made using watercolours and watercolour paper. The main image was done by stamping the snow angel and masking it and stamping the frozen brook. The snowflake die cut and the flowers were also made from dies.

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone is having a great November so far!

My card today was created using the Water Sprite image found here. After coloring her with Copics, I added some stickles to her wings and the leaves for a little added sparkle. The "thinking of you" sentiment stamp at the top is by Hero Arts.

Where does our inspiration come from ?

Curious question, and so many answers …

Sometimes, an insignificant detail catch our attention. Can be anything : a colour, an image, a word … Soon, the detail becomes an idea, the idea a full project.
The starting point of this card was a wonderful quote, I saw on SusanCraftyChaos blog : “some of my best friends live in books”. (you can see the original card here )

I’m not a digital stamper … I love rubber too much. But, honestly, I admit that I do appreciate the finish-look of digital artworks, and this blog sure shows lots of amazing digi-creations.

Anyway, let’s go back to good old rubber …
I stamped my whole characters directly on two book pages, (except the “curious cathal”, which was stamped on white cardstock, embossed, cut off and colored with watercolours).
Onto two other pages, I hand-drew false multi-pages, as a ‘trompe l’oeil’.
My book pages were, then, glued on cardstock. The quote was computer-generated, using a ‘Dymo’ font.

Run through machine. Cut close to framed edge,
extending around the left ribbon. Round opposite
corners. Highlight around box with light yellow
chalk. Antique the edges with brown pigment ink.
5. With double sided tape, attach to green
polka dot paper, then to gold CS.6. Attach to card base.

Brooding Bertryse

Bertyse is brooding over several different things.......oh my!

She'd like to wait for her knight in shining armor. But her father has promised her to marry the prince in the highlands that has asked for her hand in marriage!

She says: How I wish that I could just disappear at times as I don't even know this Prince from the Highlands, how could my father do this to me!!

So poor Bertryse is still brooding and dreaming her dream that is a wish her heart would like to make.

Dewey Dragon Autumn Bookmark

Little Dewey Dragon DT-018-E looks so scholarly peering out over his spectacles. He makes a perfect character for a Third Coast bookmark, especially with a name like Dewey.

An autumn still life was created on the bookmark tag by adding the Third Coast Coffee Pot Bouquet MY-038-J stamp and coloring it to look like a fall dried flower bouquet.

It's hard to believe how much snow many areas of the country have received so far. It feels like it should be the middle of January instead of mid-November.

Today I thought I'd share a card that hits home with me...not the snow but the hound dog that is snowboarding....

Darling isn't he?

Looks just like our Basset Hound ~ Cecil!!!

I can see him giving this a try as he dearly loves to play in the snow.

There are days when it's almost impossible to keep him in.

You've not seen funny until you've seen a dog that is 6" off the ground hopping and leaping through 10"+ deep snow drifts!

He's hilarious...

My kitty winter themed combo creation would be perfect as gifts for feline loving co-works, friends and family! I know it's a wee bit late, but I was inspired by the changing seasons!
Here's what wikipedia has to say about the equinox...

Although the word equinox is often understood to mean "equal [day and] night," this is not strictly true. For most locations on earth, there are two distinct identifiable days per year when the length of day and night are closest to being equal; those days are referred to as the "equiluxes" to distinguish them from the equinoxes. Equinoxes are points in time, but equiluxes are days. By convention, equiluxes are the days where sunrise and sunset are closest to being exactly 12 hours apart.

I love using rubber stamps on my journal pages and hunting down the perfect quote to help illustrate the stamp. This journal page is made in a water color journal sized about 5" x 7", which is a perfect size to use a "card" sized image.

Begin by painting a background color. I used green.(Yes, really) Stamp the Third Coast Stamp "Snowy Pines" ES-192-L with graphite black ink. Using a white water color crayon, color in the moon and snow, and add a bit of snow around the base of the tree. Select letters cut from magazines or brochures for your quote. Adhere them to your page with Collage Pauge or a matte gel medium or other similar product. Touch up the tree with black water color crayon as needed. Stamp other images in a pleasing manner around the borders of your page. The postage stamp images are all from Third Coast. The splatter stamp is from Stampin' UP.

After finishing the page, I photograped it with my iPhone. I like to use various phone apps to alter the color and tone of the finished project. This project was altered with Cinema FX - cinematic color. It changed all of the color to black, white and grey tones, except for the reds. Perhaps not a purist way to rubber stamp, but I love the effects and see it as an additional creative tool. I especially like it for posting projects to the web.

Instructions

Finished card is 5 x 7 inches

1. Cut striped cardstock (CS) to 5 x 7 inches, set aside.

2. Stamp Mistletoe Babes on white CS and again on paper. Cut out papered image. Mask image and stamp Snow Globe. Remove mask.

3. Using Copic markers, color faces with Skin White; girl’s outfit in Rose Pink; and boy’s outfit in Spring Dim Green. Don’t color in the cuffs or ruffles. Color hanging mistletoe with Spring Dim Green, Napoli Yellow, and Cadmium Red.

4. With coordinating Prismacolor pencils, highlight the children’s outfits. Use Neutral Gray N1 to highlight the ground the reflections on the Snow Globe.

5. Add Glossy Accents to the “window panes” on the Snow Globe. Add Diamond Stickles to star reflections, ground, and fur on children’s outfits. Allow to completely dry.

6. Fussy cut around snow globe and attach to candy cane CS. Cut red CS slightly larger, attach together. Attach this to stripped CS.

She is angry because Halloween is over! Such a funny image, just love it. All the stamps used in this card

What I did: cut a piece of pattern paper and stamp the remote Castle, the flying birds and another bat stamps and long flat stone. Add some colour and shadows with pigment pens and pencils. Stamp and colour the Miffed Witch image and attach to card. Ink the edge of the background with Black soot Distress ink.

It's Halloween!

Skull Witch (CM-231-L) from pg. 34 of the Halloween '09 was colored with Copic markers. Glitter pens added glimmer to the skulls' eyes and Glaze pens added dimension and shine.

Pile O' Skulls (CH-693-CC, from p. 15 of the Summer '05 catalog) was stamped three times, masked, and stamped some more! The next batch of skulls was masked and Shadow Cat Walking (CH-128-E p.11 of the Halloween '06 catalog) in VersaFine ink and then masked him too.

The brick wall was created by using the Bricks stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and Copic markers.

The sentiment was computer generated and printed on parchment-like paper, then overstamped it with the Scroll stamp (DV-004-G, p. 25).

Twigs Alteration diecut served to hold the sentiment scroll and a bit more interest!

Well the big day is nearly here and i have had a brilliant month long Hallowe'en fest! I thought that today i would share with you some witches.... no not ugly old hags but beautiful lasses..... all the stamps i've used are from THIRD COAST .... i coloured with promakers and ink..... and every single piece is made into a triple embossed tile. I kept the colours simple...silver black purple orange and green. Have a great sunday... and HAPPY HALLOWEEN FOR TOMORROW.

Halloween Dragon

My card today is this super cute Halloween Dragon which can be found here in the Third Coast Catalog. The background paper is from Oriental Trading. The web is a laser dye cut I bought I believe at Michaels, but I don't remember the compay it's from. I used the Cuddlebug and lizard skin embossing plate to make the orange border at the bottom of the card. I then used my Martha Stewart Web Border punch for the bottom and the spider punch to add the spider to my web in the background. I added Stickles to the webs for some sparkle, and popped up my dragon for a 3D effect. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek! Hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween Holiday!

Hi everyone,
I love to spend time on my projects, trying new techniques, changing my mind sometimes, discovering unexpected effects …
‘Grid’ is a technique that always surprises me. Because of the variety of effects you can obtain with, result will always be as original as easy-to-make. Grid can be used for backgrounds, or as a front picture, it will then look like a mosaic.
I chose to stamp a whole front picture, for my diary cover.

Isn't it great? I didn't have to choose which favorite stamps I'd put on my project ... I put them all !!!... ;D
So think grid !

Materials & Supplies: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (Tsukineko); Copic Markers Honey, Pumpkin Yellow, Golden Yellow, C-3, Grayish Olive, Pale Olive, Sepia, Dark Suntan, Lionet Gold; White Card Stock, Orange Card Stock; Blackbird Printed Paper (Memory Box); Mini Black Buttons; Black Cording; Sentiment Sticker (Making Memories (Making Memories).

Technique: Stamp the image on white card stock. Color with markers using greens for the skin, oranges for the background, grey for the clouds and browns for the frame. Color the frame with browns and gold. Trim the image out, attach to orange card stock mat. Cut the printed paper to 4” x 5.25”, wrap three strands of the cording to the front and tie off. Attach printed paper to card front and embellish with buttons. Adhere the matted image to the card front. Adhere the sentiment to lower right corner.

I'm late, I'm late for a very important date!
So I loaded up the cat in the kettle side car, she clawing at the edges trying to hold on in fright as we are zipping on our way down and around the wooded path with the full moon shining bright..........

Now that I have started the story line for you, I bet you can imagine several different ending for this fun card!

For this Halloween project I decided to create a scene that might have come out of a Gothic novel. This scene could be the beginning or the ending to a story filled with mystery, suspense and perhaps the supernatural.

Last Ride

The lg Cemetery Gate CM-253-U, Bare Branches Set CM-BBR-X stamps, and small Wolf Moon CM-010-D stamp created by Third Coast's talented artist Cindy Milliron were perfect for this project. The carriage hearse is cut from a piece of design paper by Moxxie called "Dead on Arrival," part of their Midnight Dreary series.

I don't know about you but I love making spooky Halloween scenes and this one is no exception. I thought I would depart from my normal white cardstock and see what I could do with a piece of kraft colored cardstock. I think it gives the Distress Inks an even creepier feel than normal.

'Winter Dragon' Domino Pendant by Leigh S-B

Hello Everyone!

It's been quite chilly down here in San Diego this week with lots of foggy mornings so I was inspired to share a wintery project with you today!

I designed a DominoART pendant featuring the gorgeous Dragon Orb (CH-696-H) stamp by Third Coast Rubber Stamps and I used my signature 'Sharpie Domino Queen' Technique to do all the colouring with Sharpie markers.

Materials and Tools: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (Tsukineko); Copic Markers W-1, W-3, W-5, W-7, Prawn; Batty Backgrounds Printed Papers (MyMemories); Black Card Stock; White Card Stock; Blue Card Stock; 3” Circle Punch.

Technique: Stamp and color the image on white card stock using markers. Neatly trim out image. Punch a 3” circle from the blue card stock, center andadhere the stamped image. Cut a piece of the large printed paper to 4” x 5.25” and adhere to a black card front. Cut a strip of black card stock to 1.5” x 3.75”, cut a strip of the small print paper to 1.25” x 3.5” and mat on the larger black strip. Attach to the left side of the card front about.5” from the edge. Cut a black rectangle 3.5” x 3.75” and adhere to the card front about .5” from the edge of the printed strip. Center and adhere the matted stamped image to the card front. Enjoy sharing!

Are you feeling wicked and getting in the mood for Halloween? I know that I am!

Apparently, so is she!

Here's a Halloween card featuring Third Coast's Creepy Little Girl (AP-498-K) from the new release (p.9 of the Halloween 2011 Supplement), who I think has more attitude than creepiness.

The little girl and the sentiment were both colored with Copic markers. I used a clear Glaze pen on her eyes to make them dimensional and glassy and her buttons to make them stand out a bit in all that gray!

The patterned paper is from Basic Grey's Eerie 6x6 pad, which I love and hoard. I used a Martha Stewart Spider Web border punch and some Recollections rhinestone spider brads.

Time for Hallowe'en

Welcome to our month long Halloween ball..... its quite fitting that my 1st post this month is on the 13th....i have always considered 13 lucky for me.
I have used CUTE.... yep cute stamps..... SCARY HAIRY GIRL and CAT... VB-321-P.... to alter this cat shaped clock. The images are coloured with promarkers.... fussy cut and added to my background that is, i think from DCWV.... the ghosts and words are cut from a scrap of paper from my scrap drawer. I painted the clock black.... then used the 3 bright Halloweenie colours on the outside edge to give it a fun look. Job done..... i can now count the hours to Halloween on my own Hallowe'en clock.

Halloween Queen

Yea! Only 20 more days until Halloween! Today I am posting my Halloween Queen card. I love this elegant lady. She is beautifully spooky. The paper is Recollections Midnight Magic (which also included the spider border you see in the middle panel and the "Yikes" sentiment.) I used the Martha Stewart web punch to create the corners. I also hand stitched black thread around the card. I cut out the Queen and popped her up for some dimension then added some black brads and orange pearls. Isn't she a scream? : p
